The containment measures for the extension to include the entire municipality of Florence, already in operation since last February are ZTL areas. Despite the restrictions already in force, and the arrival of the cold dry air with no rain to disperse of the pollutants, from Thursday 17 November, the concentration of PM10 in the air for four consecutive days has exceeded the limits of the law. So – as required by ordinance signed by the mayor – for four days, 22 to 25 November from 8.30 to 12.30 and from 14.30 to 18.30, traffic will be  block to Florence for mopeds 2 tempi 2 and 3-wheeled motorcycles with 2 tempi, gasoline-powered passenger cars Euro 1, diesel-powered passenger cars Euro 2 and Euro 3, diesel-powered vehicles for transporting goods Euro1. The ban may be extended for four additional days if the daily values ​​of PM 10 fell outside the limits. Naturally remain in force regarding the laws of the heating: the reduction of the daily period of operation to 8 hours per day, reducing the temperature to 18 ° C in buildings used for residential and reducing the temperature to 17 ° C in buildings used for industrial and craft activities and similar. Excludes systems installed in buildings for hospitals, clinics or nursing homes (including buildings used as a shelter or care of children or elderly), schools and kindergartens.
